Try Things at Least Twice
Facebook ads getting crap clickthrough?
CTA copy not creating enough action?
Brand messaging not quite tight enough?
Good. Go again.
Your first attempt at something will probably not be good.
It doesn’t even need to be something related to marketing or writing or anything creative.
A personal example…
The first time I played “WWF King of the Ring” on the NES (our first video game system) I sucked. I jumped out of the ring and lost because I didn’t know how to get back in.
I ran over to another couch and cried in the pillows. But I digress…
When I worked at a web agency, so many clients were ready to call it quits if the first version of ads or a landing page didn’t work out.
Gary Halbert, master marketer and copywriter, wrote in “The Boron Letters”: Try things at least twice.
“Think about how many people quit after one attempt,” he wrote to his son, Bond.
“Just a little more effort will propel you ahead of 95% of people.”
So good ahead, tap back in for round two (or three or four…)
